Concrete Questions, Answered
Straight answers to the questions Northeast Ohio homeowners ask us most. Still curious? Call or text Jake at 330-940-9334.
How much does a concrete project cost in Northeast Ohio?
Concrete cost depends on size, thickness, finish, and the site prep required. Basic flatwork like a driveway or patio is typically priced per square foot, while decorative/stamped concrete and structural foundations cost more due to added labor and materials. We provide free, written, no-obligation estimates so you know the exact price before any work begins.
How long does concrete take to cure before I can use it?
You can usually walk on new concrete after 24–48 hours, drive on it after about 7 days, and it reaches roughly 90% of full strength at 28 days. We give you specific curing guidance for your project and the weather conditions.
What is the best time of year to pour concrete in Ohio?
Late spring through early fall is ideal because temperatures stay above freezing and curing is predictable. With proper cold-weather practices — heated blankets, mix adjustments — concrete can still be poured in cooler months. We schedule around the weather to protect quality.
Why does concrete crack, and can it be prevented?
Concrete naturally shrinks as it cures, and Ohio's freeze-thaw cycles add stress. Cracking is minimized with a compacted base, the correct mix, reinforcement, and control joints placed at the right spacing — giving the slab a planned place to crack so the visible surface stays intact.
Do you offer stamped and decorative concrete?
Yes — stamped, colored, broom-finished, and exposed-aggregate finishes for patios, walkways, and entryways. You get the look of pavers or stone with the strength and low maintenance of a single poured slab.
Can you replace a basement or garage floor in a tight space?
Yes. We use compact track equipment to reach basements and garages with limited access, tear out the old slab, regrade and compact the base, and repour a level, durable floor with minimal disruption to your home.
